Biography

“Daniel’s bold comedic work is elevated through brilliantly observed performances, attributed to his obsession with casting and openness to improvisation.”
Daniel Lundh is a Swedish film director known for his distinctive blend of bold art direction, observational comedy, and innovative storytelling.
Growing up in the countryside north of Stockholm during the vibrant 1980s, he spent his youth with a skateboard in one hand and a Hi8 video camera in the other. His early experiments in filmmaking—wrangling friends into acting roles and making short films—instilled a belief that nothing happens unless you make it happen.
What began with short films soon transitioned into animation, and eventually, live action, where Daniel now thrives.
His work is characterized by a balance of humor and striking design, honed through collaborations with prestigious agencies like ACNE and SNASK. His passion for casting and openness to improvisation ensure every project is elevated through authentically observed performances.
Among his acclaimed works is the short film People In Cars, which gained widespread recognition, earning a Vimeo Staff Pick and features on numerous publishing platforms. The film was screened at festivals and broadcast on national television in Sweden and Portugal. Building on its success, Daniel is currently developing a series inspired by the film. In addition to People In Cars, Daniel has directed other celebrated short films, including Hearts & Aubergines—a witty exploration of modern dating and the impact of emojis—and Shovel, a humorous look at fear and gender roles as part of his Daft Atoms series.
Daniel’s contributions to the industry have earned him representation by several acclaimed production companies, including EPOCH in the United States, HAMLET in Belgium, and SPINDLE in the UK. His expertise also led him to serve as a jury member for the shots Awards EMEA 2023, where he evaluated works in the Ad of the Year: Direction category.
He has collaborated with global brands like Adidas, IKEA, H&M, Volvo, and Klarna, bringing his signature blend of comedy, creativity, and insight to a wide audience.
