Biography
After 20 years of working with moving images, I’ve come to the conclusion that I know very little about cinematography. The possibilities are endless, and every project brings its own particular challenges. This is probably why I still love it—and why I keep redefining what I think I know, despite knowing I’ll contradict myself in a few years.
Over the years, I’ve worked on a multitude of projects around the world and met a lot of great people along the way. I care deeply about images and the craft, regardless of the subject matter. At its best, everything clicks and somehow becomes more than the sum of its parts.
I’m also a nerd about a fairly unreasonable number of things, from Lego, volcanoes and Joy Division to bicycles, gaming, vikings, reading, Blade Runner, restoring old houses and boats, lime mortar, castles —and, more recently, raising kids reasonably well.
