Biography
Kay was born in the early 80s and grew up in Frankfurt. After studying New Zealand and working as a Post-Production Runner on KING KONG at WETA DIGITAL, he enrolled at Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg. He participated in the Hollywood Workshop 2011 at UCLA in Los Angeles and graduated in 2013 with a diploma in COMMERCIAL DIRECTING.
Since then he directed multiple national and international campaigns and spots for global brands, ad agencies and networks. His work has been shortlisted in Cannes, the New York Festivals, the ADC Germany, the New German Director’s Showcase and was featured in Lurzer’s Archive. Among others, he won awards at ADC Switzerland, CCA Austria and Berlin Fashion Film Festival.
Among others, he worked with with James-Bond Roger Moore, Tennis-Champion Roger Federer, Music-Act All-4-One, Bollywood-Star Ranveer Singh and German Comedian Atze Schröder.
Kay loves movies and storytelling in all formats … and for him, directing commercials is the best job in the world! He currently lives in Berlin, where he is working hard to insert his humor, quirky visual style and his focus on interesting characters into his films.
